Schafhof - European Art Forum Upper Bavaria

The Schafhof is the art forum for contemporary art of the District Council of Upper Bavaria with a focus on the residency program within the framework of the Art Fellowship of the District Council of Upper Bavaria, an international exhibition program and local and regional cultural events.

This weekend: JOHANNISMARKT

The popular arts and crafts market at the Schafhof will once again take place exclusively on the extensive garden grounds around the Kunstforum in an idyllic atmosphere. Around 50 artisans from the region and beyond present an overwhelming variety of artworks and handcrafted everyday objects. Music, workshops, exhibitions, a café, bar and food trucks round off the experience. Saturday 21 June from 10 am to 7 pm and Sunday 22 June from 10 am to 6 pm!

New: MUSE - Museum Café in Transition

Welcome to MUSE, the MUSEum Café in the Schafhof! Under a new name and with a new concept, the café will be open in summer 2025 during the opening hours of the art exhibitions. Enjoy the idyllic garden under apple trees and with a panoramic view over Freising and Weihenstephan!

For organisational reasons, the transition in summer will take place gradually and the range of services will be expanded step by step. If you would like to organise a special event or celebration here, please contact the office of the Art Forum.

The exhibitions and the Sculpture Garden are open as usual.
