Barbara Herold and Florian Huth
The work of Barbara Herold & Florian Huth examines themes at the interface between nature and artificiality. Their interest lies in social phenomena that arise directly from the various phases of digitalization, the change in the way people interact with nature and the optimization of the natural environment. Since 2013, Herold & Huth have been developing works in the fields of video, animation, installation, object and printmaking that deal in particular with the construction of reality. Using analog and digital working methods and techniques, the ambivalent relationship between original and designed nature is explored and reinterpreted in the field of tension between real and virtual.
Barbara Herold deals with playful systems in the threshold space between the real and the digital. She studied Fine Arts/New Media at the HBKsaar in Saarbrücken under Ulrike Rosenbach and Tamas Waliczky. Florian Huth is dedicated to appropriation and fakes. He studied under Olaf Metzel at the ADBK Munich and was awarded the Munich City Council's photography prize in 2016. Their joint works are represented in the Graphic Collection of the City of Esslingen and the City collection in the Lenbachhaus in Munich.
