Anthotype: light sensitivity of flower petals
The workshops are organized as a joint work over two days. Participants will discover the ancient and forgotten photographic process of anthotype (photography with the light sensitivity of plants).
- Day 1: Recognizing plants in the Staudengarten Weihenstephan (perennial garden), collecting some plants (with permission of the Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences). Crushing with a pestle and preparing the macerations of the plant, the light-sensitive material for the photographic process.
- Day 2: Application of the plant maceration onto the paper and creation of compositions with objects for the photogram
Materials: plants, thick absorbent paper (250-300 g, gold watercolor or similar), 70° alcohol, water, brushes and glass frame.
The participation is free of charge, participants should bring their own brushes, paper and glass frames.
