Metaphorical perspective
"Gardening of Soul" is an international research, art and exhibition program which is metaphorically understood as an activity of shaping, sharing and simultaneously using spaces and environments. The artworks shown in the final exhibition are a response to the specific conditions of certain places and the needs of local communities.
The exhibition "Gardening of Soul: In Five Chapters" includes public art projects that includes a broader social interest in marginalized areas or communities. Through the themes of gardening, care and shared social responsibility and the use of different artistic strategies, they enable a critical reflection on social exclusion and environmental threats.
International cooperation program
The works were developed in nine countries on four continents (Hong Kong, Croatia, South Africa, Iceland, Italy, Germany, Austria, Ukraine) through residency programs at the participating partner organizations, including the European Art Scholarship of the District of Upper Bavaria. During the exhibition, art talks, lectures and events for artistic encounters will be organized to demonstrate and deepen the topic for the regional public.
