Admission to the exhibition and the accompanying programs is free of charge.

About the exhibition

Storytelling is a common, timeless element in all cultures. Inspired by the German fairy tales collected by Franz Xaver von Schoenwerth in the middle of the 9th century, contemporary video artists are reinterpreting the stories for our digital age. Starting in May, the Digital Fairy Tales will be shown in five thematic blocks of 5 - 7 films each in the Digital*Space at the Kunstforum.

The audience will vote for their favorite video and take part in a prize draw. The winning films will be presented at the
Advent market and can be seen during the Christmas period. The program will be accompanied by an art talk with the curator of the series, Leo Kuelbs (New York/Berlin), in July. The fairy tales collected by Franz Xaver von Schoenwerth were rediscovered by Erika Eichenseer (Regensburg) in the Regensburg city archives.
