About the exhibition

The artist duo creates a new light art project in the sculpture garden of the Art Forum. Objects and documentation of this and other installations will be shown in the gallery on the first floor. Hartung | Trenz had developed the double installation "Coinzidenz" in the barrel vault of the Schafhof and in the nave of the Freising Cathedral for a week as part of the 2015 Zamma Festival in Freising, which was met with great public enthusiasm.

"For nearly 20 years, the artist duo Hartung Trenz has been concerned with the relationship between word and image, the two most important visual ways of interpreting and archiving perception. The basic idea of their work is to deprive the word of its serious, authoritarian readability by attaching it to surface and space and to give it back its original poetic connotative capacity. The word images become image-text spaces that correspond with the real three-dimensional spaces onto which they are projected. The works of Hartung Trenz experiment with the interaction
of linguistic consciousness and pictorial association, the capacity of word and image to interpret and create world." (1)
