Auxig is an international group of sound and visual artists based in Usti nad Labem. Members include Jan Krombholz (CZ), Barry Wan (HK), Petr Hanžl (CZ), and Polina Khatsenka (BLR). A central feature of their work is a commitment to open cooperation, a time-based media background, and an exploration of space-related concepts that each member addresses using their personal artistic approaches and techniques. The most common form of a collective's presentation is audiovisual performance, occasionally unfolding into site-specific installations. Strong influence of musique concrete and electroacoustic music tradition is defining Auxig’s work, expanded by generative visuals with a strong attitude to the topic, exploring aleatoric boundaries of man-made tools. Fields that define their direction are acoustic ecology, environment, field-recording, improvisation, interactivity, collective work.
